Tetanus Toxoid Section Stage I & II

Tetanus (adsorbed) Vaccine funded by NEC and commissioned by the State Government in December 1982 with an installed capacity of 5 million doses successfully produced the experimental Batch in 1997, 1999 (August), 1999 (Sept), and successfully passed from Central Drug Laboratory (CDL) Kasauli. Production of Commercial Batch started from March 2000 onwards.

Steps taken:

  • GMP awareness program imparted to Medical Officers, Staff engaged in the production of vaccine by the Assistant Director, Pasteur Institute of India, Coonoor on 8th and 9th February, 2010. He recommended to move the Consultancy Service Providers for improvement of renovation work to comply with Schedule ‘M’ norms. Correspondences sent to four Consultancy firms on 22nd March, 2010 and awaiting their response.
  • The Central Licence Approving Authority, New Delhi was requested to let Pasteur Institute, Shillong supply the present batch of Tetanus Toxoid Vaccine which have been tested at Central Research Institute, Kasauli and found to be of “Standard Quality” vide letter No. CDL/2010/1052 dated 16th February, 2010.
